Hello. Im DMing for the first time and I have questions. One of my characters background is a charlatan and it comes with marked cards. Im trying to figure out how my character cheats at card games when playing with other players. I was thinking for 21 I'd have to ask the player what numbers they have Or I'd roll insight with advantage and tell the player they have to tell me their cards numbers If someone else has ideas please let me know.
Using chemicals to mark cards, possible cheating at casinos?
Do casinos have systems in place to prevent using chemicals to mark cards in live casinos? We were in lab today and I was using a new pair of darkened lab goggles instead of the normal clear ones. I don't want to give it away but a pretty common clearish compound looked different when I was wearing my goggles. I put a glass of distilled water next to the beaker to compare and the water did not look any different. I'm not a chem major or anything, this is just a mandatory science course but it made me think of experimenting with other chemicals that could conceivably look different when refracted through different types of glasses/sunglasses. I can probably take the lenses out of my goggles right now and fit it into a regular frame to make it look like a pair of sunglasses and then use the stuff to mark cards right now if I wanted to. Has there ever been any kind of cheating like this in casinos? I mean I'm sure plenty of other people have thought about this trick and I can see it being really useful in games like blackjack in addition to poker. I don't know, I'm kind of rambling but I just want to throw this out there and see if anyone stumbled on something similar.

Okay so there is a show that I swear was on the history channel that I would kill to watch again. The show was all about different people and the different ways the figured out how to cheat at casino games. I swear the show was called the Griffin Book, and I'm almost certain it was on the history channel, but LITERALLY nothing comes back under a Google search for that and I can't find any mention of this type of show on different lists. I've found a show called cheating Vegas, not it, and a show called breaking Vegas which was not correct either. It was a series that had a full episode list as I remember a few episodes. These would go into detail about the cheaters back story and what they did. One guy made glasses that helped him count cards with a little red and green light. One guy was good at slight off hand which is why casino chips become a different size after a certain value. And one guy figured out a system to roulette and used his whole family for the exploit. Please people of Reddit, help me hunt down this show. I'm terrified I'm the victim of the Mandela effect
